Harvest

We have picked up a lot of chestnuts and processed them in to creme de marron a well as eating them in stew and roasted on the fire. But we haven't made even a dent in the number on the ground. It is amazing there are so many and they are all so fat and shiny it feels such a waste not being able to use them all.
We also harvested and eaten our enormous carrot crop - that is three yes THREE whole carrots. They were tasty though.
We have dug up the peanuts, there aren't that many of them either - we certainly won't be getting jar of peanut butter out of them. They are drying now before we peel and roast them.
There is still a little bit of shard and there are some beans and sweetcorn that we are letting dry on the plant for seeds.
