As we are having a beautiful Indian summer we decided to go camping.
We didn't pack light - taking roll up mattresses, a double sleeping bag each, table and chairs and the ozpig.
This is our favourite camping spot as it is accessible by car, but far from the road (so the dog can run around), the ground is flat and the views are amazing.

Camping with the pig
We like going camping various places in the mountains. We go just for a night, partially because we cannot leave the animals longer than that and partially because it is quite tiring. We don't always go to bed as early as we should and yet wake up with the sunrise.
We need a lot of creature comforts with us
The tent is a pop up one. We have tried various sleeping bags. We have settled on a double one each! In the summer they are good to sleep on and in spring and autumn they are plenty cosy.
View from just above the campsite
This is our groovy new bbq called an ozpig. It is a mini portable wood burning stove that you can cook on. It is only slightly portable at around 20kg!

Holiday activities
We went camping
with the bbq and some lamb, pork and sausages
Up at sunrise!
This bit of land was really good for working them on as it is pretty flat.
This is a ruined diary. The little square things at the middle right were for keeping the cream and milk cool.
Made sausages
More walking the dog and picnic
Met our neighbor up a mountain where we were having a picnic (having driven up there) and he had walked up ready to fly down. We totally failed to recognise him out of context which made for a confusing experience until se realised!
Put up some fireproof plasterboard above the wood burning stove. Doug needed help with that one because the lifter couldn't fit in above the stove. I am impressed he can lift them up at all single handedly.

Camping Sauvage
We went up in the hills near the house camping last weekend. I have just bought some new sleeping bags as I cannot sleep well in a narrow sleeping bag as I like being able to bend one knee and keep the other straight. I literally can't sleep if I cannot. Weird. We also have sleep suits, which are quite good but just not quite it. The tent was pretty full of sleeping bag as we have a double one each! We both found them lovely and comfy and cosy despite the dog managing to take up a great deal of each. She seemed to sleep well too which always helps
The view was beautiful, you can almost see our house in one direction
We had to tie the dog up in the morning as the hunt were out and we didn't want her to go and join in as she has no idea what she is doing and would probably get shot
Isn't modern technology amazing, you can be half way up a mountain and watch the Bakeoff
We bbqed home grown chops and sausage
And lettuce

Sunrise is at a civilised time at this time of year

Camping/caravanning trip
Amazing weather over the bank holiday (which is not a bank holiday in France).
We went camping with a friend with a dinky fold up caravan to Payolle. I didn't get one of it folded up, but it folds right down to the line below the windows!
