Buttercup looking fat
You can't really see in the photo, but she has big veins on her belly which I think are the milk vein - down towards the bottom of the photo. Her teats are all muddy because she keeps going and lying in the mud.
All muddy again. Having animals seems to mean a lot of time looking at the rear of them for pregnancy signs (! swollen vagina here?) and various sings of health or otherwise.
Here she is from the other less fat side. We have spent tome poking her in the right side to try o feel a calf, but cannot be sure we can. She is very patient about it and just looks round 'why are you doing that you weird people'
We have arranged to take Hainoa to visit a blak bull called Angus. We just have to work out how to get her there now. He is about 30 mins away - he is not her father but is at the same breeders we got her from. We haven't managed ever to spot her (or Islay the other Highland - but she is not ready to breed until next year) being in heat so we can not get her artificially inseminated. Hopefully the bull will be able to work it out!
Islay who is to and not ready for all this breeding nonsense yet.
Happy cows
