This is pretty much the same as making scones but you shape in to a loaf instead (there is a bit less sugar than in scones)
350g self raising flour
1tsp baking powder
80g butter
10g sugar
175g buttermilk or slightly acidic milk (add a squeeze of lemon if required)
1/2 tsp salt
Add the salt and baking powder to the flour
Rub the butter in to the flour mix
Add the liquid to form a stiff dough, don’t overmix, just until it comes together.
Form in to a ball, then cut it almost in to quarters but don’t cut right through
Cook at 200°C for 30 mins or until well browned.
