The only thing we need to do to get up to date on sheep tasks is to catch the remaining two male sheep that we are going to eat. We have caught and injected one of them with the parasite injection they need 28 days before going to slaughter but the other two still need doing. We have been stalking them every day now for DAYS. It is very frustrating. We are trying to lure them close enough with food, Doug has been so close to grabbing one of them several times but each time they just manage to be too fast, today the snow didn't help. We need a shepherds crook!
We don't have the dog there when we are trying to catch them! |
We have also been making some more beer and some more cheddar as well as ordering seeds (planting will start soon) and starting to make our raised beds. I will do a post on that when the weather allows us to complete the first ones. At the moment we have measured up the whole area and bought and cut the wood for three of them (out of a total of 20!)
It is possible that there are three chickens laying at the moment although it might only be two, either way it is good as we have more eggs.
You can see from the sheep photos that it is snowy around the house. It has been coming and going. It snows one day but then rains and melts it the next and then it snows again. It is all falling as snow up in the ski area though making for record amounts of snow up there.
