Poo removal (at last!)

We have been having ongoing issues with our septic tank leaking and smelling, but haven't been able to persuade someone with a poo sucking lorry to come up the drive to sort it out.
I finally found someone who has a tank on the back of a landcover who was able to come up. He pumped maybe 1.5 cubic meters of liquid and 1 of solids out of the tank.
Eeeeew :) but a fact of life living here!
He said the tank was healthy and the problem was the filter was blocked and so was the soak away. Having sucked everything out of the tank, he rinsed off the stone filter and hosed out the soaraway and says we are all good for 5-10 years...

That plastic things goes inside the tank and is full of rocks which act as a filter, so that what flows in to the soak is liquid without solids. Nice! You don't have to deal with this sort of thing in London! The fat bergs etc are safely located far from ones apartment :)
