Skiing (or rather lunch)

We went up skiing today. The snow was nice but it was very VERY windy and only a few lifts were running. The skin on our faces has been well exfoliated from the driving snow. After not very long we decided to go to L'Etape du Berger for lunch. This is a restaurant at the top of one of the ski lifts (or on the road in summer) where they do lovely local lamb and beef.
I don't think we did enough exercise to justify such a pig out, but it was delicious. The veg don't look exciting here but were nice, there is potato with cepe (muchroom) on the left and Tarbais beans on the right (Tarbes is a local village and I think they have to be grown locally to be called Tarbais)

They also do hams from local pigs which they cure themselves. We have had that before with some local sheeps cheese which was very nice - that was on a sunny day sitting outside, we needed something warming today.

This photo is actually from Monday when the weather was much nicer than today, but it gives an impression of how much more snowy it is than it has been - which is good.

It is driving rain rather than snow at our house. I feel sorry for the animals!
