For many years now we have gone to Chamonix skiing for Christmas. Prior to that we went away to a variety of places including Prague and Amsterdam (both lovely at Christmas - although cold). As a result we never bothered getting a Christmas tree because we would not get much benefit from it. As this year we are going to be able to combine being at home with skiing we have bought a tree!
It isn't very big and we are keeping it outside in pot (it has roots) because the house is dirty enough without the dog chewing a christmas tree all over it. We haven't decorated it in an exotic style, just some lights but we are very happy with it - being able to have our life all in one place is part of what we looked forward to about coming here.
