Horses feet and riding

We have been trimming the horses feet for about 9 months and keeping them really short with the theory that this will stop the flaring that we believe is happening. They seem much better, though still not perfect. We went for a ride, having not been out with them for a while and both of them were a lot more comfortable. Daisy more so and Owen has had tender feet since then, we are worried another abscess may be forming.

We have tried thermal photos of Owen's feet as apparently if there is an abscess it will be hotter.

Bit inconclusive as the right one does seem to be slightly hotter but not much when we looked from lots of different angles.
