Well actually I am not sure what is happening to them, but apparently they are leaving.
We finally managed to speak to the owner of the dogs who attacked Poppy. He is a farmer who has a lot of land and cows around here - so he is pretty busy and tricky to get hold of.
We caught up with him at lunch time just as he was going back out to work. It seemed like he must have dealt with lots of complaints about his dogs as when we said they had attacked our dog he just asked to see the bill. He took a photocopy and said we should get a cheque from the insurance in about 2 weeks. We then said that is wasn't just the money that was bothering us, but the fact that it wasn't safe for us to walk our dog past, or potentially for other people passing the dogs. He said that he had given them away and they should be leaving in the next day or two. Or at least that is what we think he said!! It is quite stressful and difficult having conversations like this in French but we are relived to have had it and that he seemed to accept th problem. It would have been easy just not to go that way again, but it is on the way to a lot of places and we also felt worried that it was Poppy this time, but it could be a child walking a dog or something next time.
