One of Daisy's shoes fell of last week. The farrier reattached it but said there were some issues with the positioning of one of the nails (he didn't fit it - it was someone at her old home). It fell of again a couple of days ago, so he came back and replaced both her shoes (she only has them on the front feet - he is maybe going to shoe the back feet next week, we need to decide)
I have never seen a horse being shod before so it was interesting to see just how much he cut off (the dog ate all the offcuts - strange beast!). I always worry when picking their feet out that I will hurt them, but if this did not then a little tickling with a hoof pick could not possibly
Daisy isn't very obliging with her feet when we pick them and she isn't great with the farrier either. She has a certain amount of patience and then she wants her foot back and just puuuuulllls until he has to drop it - she is a tad stronger than him.
I didn't help the experience by taking a photo - despite bright daylight the stupid camera decided to flash which Daisy wasn't best pleased about and jumped back about 3 feet nearly squishing the farrier. But luckily he was very understanding once he had recovered from the surprise and I had apologised 8 million times.
