First ski of the year!

Not actually that much snow, but just enough to get out for a quick run on the beginner slopes opposite the flat.

Visit From Janet, Ruth, Huw and Christopher

As always when we have visitors we ate and drunk way to much and took a few walks to offset it slightly.

We had a day in La Mongie where Janet and Chris went up the cable car to the Pic du Midi and the rest of us had a nice walk at the Col du Tourmalet.

We also spent a day in Lourdes and went up the Pic du Jer and to the castle. Lovely!

Spruce up at La Mongie

We are busy preparing to rent the apartment in La Mongie. Not quite ready yet though. We need to sort the ignition on the cooker and hang a new light fitting and some more pictures as well as raise the cooker a bit and finish the top part of the new storage unit.

Snow and cold cold cold

It snowed in the morning and settled. Though fortunately it melted by evening.

Overnight it got down to -4 degrees on the roof. Brrrrrr.

Pic du Jer and Lourdes Castle

I love funiculars and cables cars and the like. Finally we have been up the Pic du Jer in Lourdes.

While in Lourdes we also went to the castle (also never been there)

We discovered that the beret was invented in the Pyrenees!

Pic du Midi with Olli

While Olli was here we dragged him up the Pic du Midi despite his fear of heights. He was very brave.

There is a new sky bridge up there.

Visit from Olli

Olli flew all the way from Plockton on the west coast of Scotland to visit. Hurrah!
While waiting for his plane to land we had sushi and guinness in Tarbes. Exciting!

We did lots of eating and drinking as well as a few walks with the doggy.

We also had a holiday within a holiday and popped up to La Mongie so Olli could help carry some furniture up to the apartment.
