The joists in the bedroom are getting levelled up so the new floor can be layed on them. It will still slope a bit from one side to the other (so we can roll down hill in to bed) but in an even way so the floor boards can cope. That is a bit of insulation that escaped from the ceiling, the sub floor needs to go in before scaffold or a ladder can go up so it can be put back. The plasterboard and some extra metal struts will eventually hold it all in place.
This is one of the new floorboards. The colour variety between boards is quite high so it should have a nice rustic look.
Here are some of the many many samples we chose between. No they don't look all nearly the same! They are TOTALLY different...
Hopefully the floor will come to the right level to meet the bottom of the door on to the balcony.
