Phew! Hay!

It is a bit of hassle getting hay because the bales are so big and unwieldy. It is possible to get small ones but they are rarer and much more expensive. We normally try to get a few for emergencies but we need the bulk as big bales.
We have just got 10 from our neighbour that he has delivered. He doesn't actually live next door although there is a house, he rents it out and farms the land around it, so we only see him once in a while. I managed to get across what we wanted on the phone to his brother though.

In the barn - that is not a strike of lighting, I think it is a strand of hay caught in the flash

In the hay store at the stables. Only 4 bales fit in there although it looks huge! There is room for some small ones as well though.

The tractor made a bit of a mess as the ground is quite wet but c'est la vie!

There is also a farmer up the hill who is going to deliver a bale every fortnight in to the bottom field. Between these two things we should have enough. The cows (minus Bluebell and Lismore who are living with the horses) are diving in to their first bale now and seem very happy, grass supplies have been getting low so they are a bit hungry. This meant that we could move the horses to field by the stables and we have started bringing them in for nuts and some hay and to let their feet dry out some days.
