Curry Cooking Day

A friend spent some of her childhood in India and is a super cook of Indian food.

In aid of the twinning association (Bagneres is twinned with Inverurie and Malvern) we helped cooking for a curry take away evening.

Curry cooked for nearly 50 people. 15 different dishes (including salads and desert). Hectic at times, but fun and very delicious food.

Ski Boot Adjustments

Skiing is less dun with sore feet

New high taxh tool. The plastic is heated with a hot air heat gun and this is clamped on to creat a bulge where you need more space.

You can’t really see, but the right one has been expanded at the base of the big toe. Doug has done some more drastic adjustments on his boots…

Lettuce in risotto??

I read a recipe with lettuce in stir fry, tried it and it was great. Then I had the idea to try it in risotto to! Also good!

Served with steak

We are on a new year diet, so quite a few meals with lettuce :)

Owen’s teeth

Poppy doing quality control on the hay
Owen is 23 now and for some months has had problems eating hay. The dentist was finally able to rasp his teeth so that he can eat somewhat, but apparently he has lost quite a few teeth - their teeth stop growing and this happens as they get older it seems.

He is eating better now, but we are feeding him hay granules as he has lost quite a bit of weight. We have to be careful what we feed him as many things cause problems for his hooves.

It’s no fun getting older!

Horse Ride

Not a long ride as Owen had a bit of a sore foot. But lovely to get out with them

Happy New Year!

Lovely skiing. So nice to be able to do it this season…

This doesn’t look impressive perhaps, but this is an enormous frying pan and a huge piece of beef. Yum!

We must get some champagne glasses for the flat!

Skiing skiing but also working working

With my job we haven’t been able to ski so much. Doug has been up a couple of times with friends, we have been up at weekends and I have taken a few days off here and there too, so not too bad! It is just amazing after the last couple of years of cancelled seasons to be able to do it pretty much like normal (you have to have a pass sanitaire and wear a mask in queues)

There is so much snow! Must be record amounts. We haven’t really had powder skiing as it all fell in a few big storms that were too crazy to even get to the resort during. Still, it is great to have so much snow and lovely weather now!

Poppy has to stay in the flat while we ski, but she enjoys the view and has fun running on the snow when the pistes close.

Little benefit of covid that all the restaurants do takeaway now. Eating out is fun, but it is nice to eat food I didn’t have to cook in front of the TV as well! This is from a restaurant right by the flat, perfect!
